logi.DICT - The Database-Supported Solution for Projects in Foreign Languages or even Multilingual Projects.

logi.DICT is an integrated terminology and translation database. With this tool a project engineer can store his notes and comments in the database in several languages. Integration of logi.DICT in thirdparty software is also possible. This helps to significantly reduce the translation workload for multilingual technical documentation.

Advantages of logi.DICT
logi.DICT facilitates communication between project engineering and maintenance in several languages
Project engineers, plant/facility planners, programmers, maintenance engineers - they all speak the same language
Plant/facility maintenance is not delayed by any issues of understanding

Here a common application scenario:

Advantages of logi.DICT

The planning engineer creates the programs (i.e. the control-technical plant plans) in so-called function plan documents. These function plan documents contain self-evident drawings and labels for example in comments or signal names (a usual standard text would be "emergency stop" or "overpressure").
A plant for which programming and installation has been completed will be maintained by an especially trained technician – the customer engineer. He is able to optimally perform his tasks due to the existing function plan documents, maybe he even performs some error analyses.
The self-evident drawings in the function plan document allow a basic understanding of the complex processes going on within the plant. However, included labels (usually in the native language of the planning engineer) cause comprehension problems – in particular, if the customer engineer speaks another native language and sufficient knowledge in foreign languages might not be a given.

logi.DICT assists you in automating the translation of the planning engineer's labels into the respective national language. Therefore, comprehension problems of the customer engineer are eliminated making maintenance of the plant easier and quicker. The advantage for the planning engineer: logi.DICT can switch the labels to his native language, too.

It is obvious: logi.DICT will help to diminish communication difficulties between project planning and maintenance, if those might arise because of different languages and a smooth plant maintenance might be compromised.
