Unicode international standard that provides a unique number for every character – no matter what the platform, no matter what the program, no matter what the language. Unicode is the requirement, if you want to exchange characters (i.e. texts) world-wide without loss of information.
Unicode makes it possible to have characters in non-Latin languages (e.g. Greek, Russian, Japanese) represented without errors. For these characters logi.cals also uses the terms complex characters or characters not included in the ANSI character set. Such complex characters can be entered and displayed within logi.DOC.
The Web site of the Unicode Consortium www.unicode.org offers detailed information about Unicode.
